  • Helps establish and maintain the highest possible standards of reproduction for all TV, print, outdoor, audio/visual, and collateral materials produced by the agency.

  • Maintains equal standards for all interactive projects produced by the agency, and communicates with the Interactive Department on all levels regarding interactive projects.

  • Monitors the quality of finished mechanical/digital art and conceptual materials produced by internal and freelance artists.

  • Provides direction and guidance to department members

  • Encourages the professional development of department staff.

  • Ensures the efficient visual execution of creative concepts according to a prime account responsibility list or by Creative Director assignment.

  • Consults with the Creative Director, as well as copywriters, production, and account service personnel as necessary to achieve agency objectives.

  • Observes agency consensus in the production of client presentation materials, either conceptual or finished art.

  • Examines and approves finished art and conceptual material, and supervises the alteration or correction of such material.

  • Oversees standards in type specification, color quality, inspection and approval of proofs, and selection of paper stocks.

  • Provides press-side inspection of print runs by creative personnel when required.

  • Engages in any personal development necessary to stay current in advertising techniques and standards, and research activity required to become more familiar with clients’ businesses.

  • Meets established deadlines or provides reasonable notice to the production department of special circumstances requiring deadline extension.

I worked at Arketype for 5 years as a graphic designer/art director under the creative genius of Jim Rivett. It was an incredibly fun place to work at, with projects ranging from B2B and B2C companies to community-based projects.

My experience at Arketype includes:

  • Extensive work in layout of advertisements, catalogs, brochures, direct-mail pieces and campaigns, specification and sell sheets, identity systems, logos, posters, trade show banners/displays, point-of-purchase displays, retail packaging, t-shirt graphics, website layout, online banner advertisements, caricatures, traditional and digital illustration, powerpoint presentations, creating 3-dimensional mockups for client presentations/review, creating storyboard and artwork for animated and live-action video, creating client presentations with rationale.

  • Concepting ideas for projects in both solo and collaborative situations, minor copywriting duties.

  • Working/communicating with account managers, designers, copywriters and clients’ marketing departments to help bring their vision to life

  • Moving multiple concurrent projects from inception to completion throughout stages of production while maintaining tight deadlines

  • Account Executive duties managing projects and maintaining communication with clients, estimating projects with business office assisting and overseeing fellow designer projects, art directing minor photo shoots, archiving and keeping files organized

  • Working hard. Playing hard.

Working at WM Design was the longest tenure I've had at a job. Beth Wenger Johnstone and Frank Meier led our team, creating a tight-knit little family. Miller Electric and Kimberly Clark were our biggest clients, and we worked with many of their subsets within each company.

 

My experience at WM included:

  • Concepting ideas for projects in both solo and collaborative situations.

  • Self-driven to bring projects to completion while maintaining deadlines.

  • Extensive work in layout of catalogs, brochures, direct-mail pieces, specification and sell sheets, identity systems, logos, posters, trade show banners, point-of-purchase displays, retail packaging, t-shirt graphics, online banner advertisements, caricatures, spot illustrations, illustrations for animated multimedia, powerpoint presentations, creating three-dimensional mockups for client presentations/review.

  • Designed internal/external communicative marketing pieces such as program/service brochures, newspaper advertisements, invitations, event-based posters and direct-mail pieces, identity packages, outdoor and indoor signage, three-dimensional displays, physician bio cards, athletic book for high school sports medicine program

  • Conception/production on pro-bono projects such as Neenah Streetball Challenge, postcards for Fox River Valley Ad Association events, and 1998 Addy Awards theme “ADDYCADABRA” (mailing collateral and event display/signage)

  • Worked directly with clients, pre-press houses, and printing companies to successfully complete projects

  • Coordination of projects, time tracking, project filing, and equipment maintenance
